Students visiting Van Oordt
A group of students of the RSG in Oud-Beijerland the has brought a company visit to Van Oordt. The company visit is part of a school project concerning sustainability.
‘Schools for sustainability’ is a project designed for high school students. The students get an assignment of a company. This group of students were asked to generate ideas for the new sustainable business park. Answers cannot be found in books, but the students have to do their own research. From company visits and contacts with real experts, the students get familiar with the concept of sustainability.
The students of the RSG visited Van Oordt on Wednesday 30 March. The students got acquainted with the world of portion packs. By means of a presentation and a guided tour, the students were informed Van Oordt about the practical measures Van Oordt undertakes with reference to sustainability. For instance the reduction of packing material, recycling of materials, reduction of energy-use and the marketing of organic and fairtrade products.
